Professional Teeth Whitening

At Lake Norman Dentistry, we recommend professional teeth whitening as one of the first procedures you try as lackluster teeth are a common complaint among patients. Whitening your teeth removes stains and discolorations, making your smile brighter. We can complete this treatment in one appointment and give you quality results that you’ll immediately be proud of.

Boost by Opalescence

For those who want to whiten their teeth at home, we offer our Opalescence Boost Teeth Whitening System which has a more drastic effect than store-bought kits. Opalescence is made with our original patented dentist-approved formula to increase the brightness of your smile within a month and give you a boost of confidence. We offer many different concentrations and flavors so that you can whiten your teeth in a way that’s suitable for you.

We can also apply Opalescence in-office as well. You’ll see a noticeable difference by the time you leave our office. Our patented formula contains potassium nitrate and fluoride for the comfort of our patients. It’s also sticky and viscous making it stay in place preventing the gel from seeping out during the treatment. It’s an effective way to whiten your teeth and you’ll see a brighter smile within one hour.

Clear Braces

An important part of cosmetic dental care is straightening teeth. We have a variety of solutions that can change the appearance of teeth to make them look straighter. Clear braces is an orthodontics treatment that involves wearing clear aligners that have been custom-created to straighten your teeth. By wearing each aligner for a prescribed period of time, your teeth will move that much closer to being straight. Many people enjoy this solution because the aligners are nearly invisible.

Dental Veneers

One of the most common dental procedures is the placing of dental veneers. This type of cosmetic dental care is popular because of the variety of issues it can correct, such as:

  • Creating a uniform, white, and natural-looking smile
  • Correcting severely discolored or stained teeth
  • Improving the appearance of worn, misshapen, crooked, or chipped teeth

A veneer is a thin shell that Dr. Guice will bond to the surface of the tooth. Only a small portion of the enamel will need to be removed prior to the bonding procedure, making veneers less invasive than placing dental crowns. Dental Veneers are color-matched to your natural teeth color and cannot be whitened. If you’re interested in a whiter smile, it’s recommended that you have your teeth whitened prior to the procedure.

We encourage you to call and schedule an appointment with Dr. Guice to learn more about this cosmetic dental treatment.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are an excellent restorative solution in the form of a ceramic cap. We create the dental crown after taking accurate impressions of the teeth. We customize each dental restoration to match the individual's teeth for a perfect fit. After customization, the crown will blend in with your surrounding teeth, and prevent anything from directly touching the tooth.

A crown is a type of cap that commonly protects chipped, cracked, damaged, or eroded teeth. A crown can also correct common aesthetic problems by closing gaps between teeth, changing the shape and size of teeth, covering dark stains, and making teeth appear straighter.

Crowns are long-lasting with an average lifespan of fifteen years or longer, making them incredibly popular. Before placement, Dr. Guice will need to prepare the tooth. When you visit our Huntersville dental office, we’ll remove a portion of the enamel from around your tooth so the crown can surround it without making the tooth overly large. We’ll then attach a temporary crown using water-based glue. When the final crown is ready, you’ll return so we can bond the crown in place. Once complete, you can leave our office with an enhanced smile.

Dental Bridges

If you’re missing one or several teeth, dental bridges are an ideal solution for replacing them. For this procedure to work, you need to have remaining healthy teeth that can serve as anchors for the bridge. Dr. Guice will secure a dental bridge by placing dental crowns on the two teeth surrounding the missing one. These crowns hold the bridge and new tooth in place.

Those suffering from major tooth loss may not be a good candidate for dental bridges, since they require healthy, natural teeth to hold it in place. Otherwise, they’re a good non-surgical solution for tooth loss and can look completely natural.

Dental Implants

At Lake Norman Dentistry, we often discuss the benefits of dental implants with our patients. It's Important to deal with tooth loss as soon as possible. After losing a tooth, the jawbone will no longer receive stimulation from that area. Without stimulation, the body begins to think the jawbone is no longer necessary and leaches calcium from the area. This process of resorption can lead to devastating changes in the face, creating a sunken appearance.

Dental implants are the best solution for preventing this since an implant replaces both the tooth and root. In this procedure, Dr. Guice will implant a titanium rod under the gums and secure it to the jawbone. The bone and metal will fuse together through the process of osseointegration. Once the process is complete, we can secure an artificial tooth to the post. The result is a tooth that looks, feels, and behaves entirely natural.
